Calvin Harris in Cuba* 25th November 2007

Calvin Harris and his band played a roaring set on Sunday night in Cuba* Club. The 23 year old Scot, who co-produced the new Kylie album, has been on a national tour of Ireland over the past week. Alex Fernie Audio provided sound for the concert, which included four stacks of NEXO Alpha E for FOH, a PS15 rig with subs for side-fills and two 32-channel desks. Rag Week at NUIG Bar 18th - 22nd February 2008

This week the NUIG Bar hosted four consecutive nights of concerts. Acts included The Republic of Loose, The Japanese Pop Stars, Buck Taylor, DJ Byrno, You’re A Star finalist Pat Fitz, Tightrope (pictured right) and a selection of other bands and DJs. Alex Fernie Audio supplied four stacks of NEXO Alpha E for FOH with an Allen & Heath ML3000 desk. NEXO PS10s were used for monitors and an LS500 Sub was added to the drum fill. iRadio, Ireland’s first fully-digital radio station, broadcast over the airwaves for the first time at noon on Thursday. The Coronna’s (pictured left) played live at the launch.

Two of Sweden's hottest DJ’s, Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso (Swedish House Mafia) mixed an adrenaline soaked set the Black Box on the St.Patrick’s Weekend. The duo will wrap up their worldwide tour in a weeks time at the annual Winter Music Conference in Miami. Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied 8 stacks of NEXO Alpha E for FOH. Blacklight were responsible for the incredible lighting and Freewheel Media supplied motion graphics.

Future Kings of Spain at NUIG Bar 13th March 2008

It’s been a big year for Future Kings of Spain who scored three nominations for this years Meteor Awards (Best Irish Band, Best Irish Album and Best Irish Live Act). The Run Johnny Run fund-raising ball in aid of Seachange was held at the Radisson Hotel on Saturday night. The ball raised awareness of the Seachange Foundation, which operates to eradicate extreme poverty through Microcredit (tiny loans targeting the worlds poorest, empowering them to lift themselves out of extreme poverty). In order to support this cause, Johnny Donnelly (pictured far left - Saw Doctors/Arcana) will run 60 Marathons, in 43 countries, on 7 continents, back to back over 4 years – 2000 miles in total. Entertainment included a drumming display by Arcana, Lucia Evans (pictured) and a live band. Alex Fernie Audio Ltd supplied the new state-of-the-art NEXO Geo S12 Tangent Array. Blacklight supplied lighting and visuals on the night.
